we always enjoy our weekend visits to madrid. last weekend was orgullo gay (gay pride) weekend so there were a lot of festivities and merrymaking in the streets. it's always sad to say good-bye to spain for the summer, but it feels great to be home. to be honest i feel a bit disoriented in my own country, but i'm hoping that will last a week tops. today is the 4th of july so we'll be celebrating america with a bbq at mom's house and then fireworks down by the river. i'll post pictures of the u.s. soon!
