la vida murciana

I've been home half of this week with a throat infection and a temperature. I feel a bit better today but Roberto and his Mom told me I'm not allowed to go to work. So here I am, bored at home and I decided to take advantage of this free time to update my blog. As I said this week hasn't been very exciting but last week and the week before were nice. The weather has been getting better and we even went to Roberto's Uncle's orchard for lunch one sunny day. It's so relaxing there. I started an art class a couple weeks ago and this weekend I started a small painting of pomegranates. If it turns out okay I'll take a picture and post in on the blog.

My days are filled with things I enjoy...café con leche in the morning, work with the cutest kids ever, French classes, painting, books on my kindle, coffee dates with friends, Roberto and his family, delicious food, yoga and long hikes in nature.

Here are some pictures from la huerta...

thank god for weekends

This weekend was nice even if it was too short for my taste. On Friday night Roberto and I went out to eat in Murcia at a nice restaurant close to the cathedral. The food was amazing. We had shrimp/coconut/pumpkin croquetas, artichokes in a vegetable sauce, foie sauce with toast, strawberry/mozzarella/walnut salad, steak, wine, champagne and a warm brownie with strawberry sauce for dessert. Yum! On Saturday we of course had to go burn all of those calories off so we went hiking in ricote. It was a sunny day and we stole some oranges from the orchard and climbed up to the top of a lookout to eat them. Later that day Roberto went to a party and I went to a painting class in Murcia with some friends. Today I met Meredith for lunch because she was visiting from Madrid for the day. We had an ice cream and a coffee after lunch and caught up for a bit. It was nice to see her. Now it's Sunday evening which means I have to plan classes for the week and prepare myself for another week of work, boo!
