i hope everyone had a great christmas. ours was fun filled and the best part is that it's hardly over yet!
i was surprised by a letter in the mail from my friend sarah this week . her letters are my favorite (what would you expect from children's book writer in the making) and are complete with doodles and side notes. she grew up in germany and remembered that in europe the christmas spirit continues until epiphany, or in spain "el día de los reyes" (the day of the three wise men). this is great for me because it means i am off work until january 9th! it also means i can continue celebrating all week, and i will.
we had a christmas concert on the last day of school. the children were darling in their costumes and they were surprisingly able to sing the songs i taught them. i was quite proud.
this weekend we celebrated christmas with roberto's friends and family. we of course feasted. we had roast lamb, potatoes, salmon rolls, ham and cheese cake, shrimp, clams, squid and more. delicious.
here are a few pics from our christmas dinner with roberto's friends. there was no shortage of beer and wine as you can see in the video of roberto's friend, eduardo, singing. enjoy! merry christmas!
